Nottingham Forest are going to be in the market for a new player to replace Elliot Anderson.
The Reds are set to announce the sale of Anderson to Manchester City, with £116 million set to enter the club’s coffers.

It’s going to be vital to replace Anderson and the addition of a proven Premier League player would likely be a signing that would be unanimously popular at the City Ground.
Nottingham Forest want Curtis Jones
According to the Daily Mail, Forest are now keen to bring Jones to the City Ground this summer, with the Scouser ready to walk away from his boyhood club.
Jones featured in 34 Premier League games last season, but he’s hardly been considered as a first-choice option, with new boss Andoni Iraola seemingly ready to sanction his departure.
👀Would you take Curtis Jones if Elliot Anderson leaves Nottingham Forest this summer?🤔
The central midfielder came through the academy at Anfield, and for Liverpool to consider selling him, they’ll be looking for deals at around the £35 million mark.
Jones needs to move on from Liverpool to play more frequently, and with Forest having an Anderson void to fill, he will surely recognise that he would be the replacement for the number eight.
At 25, Jones is at a good age to continue improving and perhaps more crucially, he would come in as a plug-and-play Premier League player.
Jones completes more passes than Anderson
It’s fair to say that Anderson outshines Jones in a number of midfield metrics, but then the Forest player is set to become a £116 million footballer.
There is no saying that Jones can’t prove to be a steal, however, at £35 million, with Liverpool placing such an intriguing price tag on his head.
Squawka shows that Jones actually made a higher percentage of his passes than Anderson last season, although the Forest man did attempt more.
Clearly, Anderson is a better player than Jones right now, but the challenge for Forest is to sign a player who can come in and thrive under regular game time, much like Anderson has done.
Jones’ versatility can help Forest
Not only is Jones naturally a central midfielder, but he’s also showcased an ability to play as a right-back during his time at Liverpool.
Having players who can operate in more than one position can only be a good thing for Forest boss Vitor Pereira, and he could prove a very useful signing indeed.
💰Who is YOUR dream signing to replace Elliot Anderson this summer?
The midfielder is set for a £116m move to Manchester City
Forest are actually in the market for a new right-back this summer as well, and bringing Jones into the ranks automatically bolsters the options in that area.
Whether Forest can convince Jones to come to the City Ground this summer remains to be seen, but if they could, it’d be a very useful addition to the squad.
