Nottingham Forest midfielder Ibrahim Sangare was in action for Ivory Coast on Tuesday evening.

Ibrahim Sangare has impressed at the World Cup in America as he’s been a key figure in Ivory Coast’s commendable campaign to the knockout stages.

Sangare started in the round of 32 clash against Norway, but unfortunately, his nation suffered a 2-1 defeat.

Ibrahim Sangare’s stats vs Norway

According to Sofascore’s data, Sangare was the second-highest rated player for Ivory Coast, only behind Amad Diallo, who scored a wondergoal off the bench.

The 6ft 3 midfielder was dominant in his duels and very composed on the ball, completing 47 of his 54 passes.

Sangare even laid on a key pass, so on another day, he would’ve contributed with an assist, but it wasn’t to be in the end.

The 28-year-old will now have an extended break before returning to the East Midlands for pre-season next month.

The first friendly is on the 18th of July, as Vitor Pereira’s men take on League One side Notts County at Meadow Lane.

The Tricky Trees then travel to Portugal for a hot-weather camp, with Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers the first of three games in Southern Europe.

Forest’s 2026/27 Premier League campaign doesn’t start until the 22nd of August, when they host Leeds United at the City Ground.
