Nottingham Forest are one of several clubs keen to sign Lucas Bergvall this summer.
The Tottenham midfielder will be shunted down the pecking order on the back of big-money signings Manuel Fernandes and Sandro Tonali joining the club.

Bergvall was signed by Tottenham in the summer of 2024, and owing to injuries, he’s been thrust into first-team action.
His potential availability has alerted Forest after Elliot Anderson was sold to Manchester City for £116 million earlier this month.
Forest would likely have to pay around £45 million for Bergvall, but it would appear as though there could now be a problem.
Aston Villa could make move for Lucas Bergvall
In Belgium’s crushing win over the USA at the World Cup, disaster struck for Villa.
Amadou Onana was forced off during the contest, and it’s since emerged that he’s ruptured his ACL and will likely miss nine months of action.
As a result, Villa could come in for Forest-linked Bergvall to bolster their midfield ranks.
Clearly, the 20-year-old wouldn’t be able to replace Onana from a battering ram point of view, but with money tight at Villa Park, they could look to get Bergvall to add to the options available to Unai Emery.
Bergvall could be kept at Tottenham, but it does feel likely that the player will push to leave as he tries to secure regular football.
With Onana set to be out long-term, Villa need all the bodies they can get in their engine room, and surely their interest in Bergvall will be reignited.
With Oliver Glasner coming in at Forest, it’s unclear whether the interest remains in Bergvall.
If it does, Forest might need to make it quick when it comes to putting in a concrete bid and trying to snare him to the City Ground ahead of Villa.
