Nottingham Forest appointed Oliver Glasner on Monday, and he becomes the fifth manager to work for the club in under 12 months.

Nuno Espirito Santo, Ange Postecoglou, Sean Dyche and Vitor Pereira all managed Forest in 2025/26, with the club surviving relegation. Just!

FILL IN THE GAP: Davide Frattesi would be a __/10 signing….🤔

👀Should we be aiming a little bit higher?🤔

The future now feels bright for Forest, and the first port of call for Glasner will likely be to identify some transfer targets to bring to the City Ground.

A host of players have already been linked with the club, and now, one player heavily mooted with a City Ground switch is set to resolve his future.

Davide Frattesi to decide future in coming days

According to Italian journalist Marco Barzaghi, Frattesi is still set to leave Inter during the current transfer window.

It’s not clear how seriously Forest are pushing for a deal at this stage, with some upheaval since he was first linked with a move to the City Ground.

Barzaghi said on his YouTube channel: “Outgoing transfers. They also want to speed up the situation regarding Frattesi and force him to face the reality of his situation.

“He’s training with great motivation for what he wants to be his season of redemption. He would prefer to stay in Italy, but if the best offers come from England, then there’s no point wasting time.”

Glasner arrival could complicate Frattesi deal

Frattesi would be a very underwhelming signing from a Forest point of view.

Although he’s played in the Champions League and for Italy, it would be a very strange signing as a replacement for Elliot Anderson.

Forest will want to go big in the market this summer, and ultimately, he might not be a big enough name to appease Glasner.

Although the incoming boss won’t have the complete say in the players targeted, he will be consulted before any players come to the club this summer.

Frattesi doesn’t feel like a Glasner signing, and as a result, Forest might be satisfied to lose out in this particular player.
