Nottingham Forest star Dan Ndoye is a World Cup quarter-finalist after Switzerland beat Colombia on penalties.
Ndoye’s first campaign at Forest didn’t really go according to plan, with his only Premier League goal coming on the opening day against Brentford.
The forward was in and out of the team and was probably one player who suffered with the club having four managers across the campaign.
Nonetheless, he’s a different entity for his country, and last night he helped his team progress to the last eight of the World Cup.

Switzerland media mark Dan Ndoye’s performance
Glasner will be watching with intrigue as he looks to run the rule over his players in the coming weeks.
Naturally, he will have to wait to get back to pre-season training to see a lot of them but right now he can take a look at Ndoye at the World Cup.
Will Oliver Glasner give Dan Ndoye another chance at Forest? Should he be given one? Let us know in the comments!
Switzerland held Colombia – ranked five places above them in the FIFA World Rankings – to a 0-0 draw and then prevailed on penalties.
Glasner was told by 20 Minuten exactly what is missing from Ndoye’s game at the moment.
They wrote: “His lively playing style makes life difficult for opponents, much like Pablo Escobar did for the Colombian police in the 80s. Only the finishing touch (a goal contribution) is missing.”
Glasner has decision to make over Ndoye
Ndoye has been linked with a return to Italy, and the fact that he’s lacking in physical presence makes that move seem legitimate.
The Swiss performer might have a desire to remain at Forest, though, and there is definitely a conversation to be had between Glasner and Ndoye.
| Dan Ndoye vs Colombia | Total |
| Minutes | 91 |
| Shots | 2 |
| Fouled | 5 |
| Pass Accuracy | 71.4% |
| Tackles | 2 |
| Interceptions | 4 |
Given that Ndoye has featured as a right-sided wing-back for the national team in the past might be ideal for a Glasner system, but he might prefer a more natural option.
Still, Ndoye’s performances at the World Cup are perhaps doing more good than harm, and it will be interesting to see what decision the club makes on Ndoye.
