Nottingham Forest have delivered an update on the future of Jota Silva.

The Portuguese winger signed for Forest from Vitoria Guimaraes in the summer of 2024 and made 38 appearances during the 2024/25 campaign.

During that campaign, Silva registered eight goal contributions, but ahead of last season, he was loaned out to Besiktas.

Should we have kept Jota Silva for a little bit longer?

Could Oliver Glasner have got a tune out of him?

His time in Turkey wasn’t overly fruitful, as he claimed just six goal contributions from 23 appearances.

Some fans had predicted that he would get a chance this summer, but his time at Forest looks to be over once and for all, with the Reds making an announcement over his future.

Jota Silva signs for Olympiacos

The Reds have this morning announced that Silva has completed a loan move to Olympiacos.

Furthermore, it’s claimed that there is a clause in the contract that allows the Greek champions the chance to make it permanent in 12 months.

As a result, Silva’s time looks to be over at Forest, and he looks to have kicked a ball for the final time at the City Ground.

It’s not clear how much Forest will stand to lose on this deal, but it does feel as though the club will make a loss on the £11 million they paid for the Portuguese performer.

Silva served a purpose in the season that Forest finished seventh, but ultimately, he looked some way short of the required standard to be starting games in the Premier League.

With that in mind, supporters are unlikely to lose too much sleep over this decision and what it does do is free up space in the squad for Glasner to strengthen.
