Elliot Anderson has left Nottingham Forest to sign for Manchester City, and now he’s a World Cup semi-finalist with England.

Anderson was outrageously good for England against Norway as the Three Lions came from behind to secure a last four date with Argentina.

England’s goals came courtesy of Jude Bellingham who stepped up to the plate once more for his country, with Anderson also in the frame for some high profile praise.

It’s clear how much Anderson is rated by those who have played with or against him previously, with Harry Toffolo making a bold claim after his latest England outing.

Harry Toffolo raves about Elliot Anderson

Toffolo moved to Charlotte FC last summer ending a three-year stay at Forest as he went in search of regular first-team action.

He served a purpose at Forest and whenever he got minutes, he never let anyone down in his left-back position.

During the 2024/25 campaign, Toffolo spent time playing in the same team as Anderson and last night he thinks was the best he’s seen the midfielder play.

He posted on Instagram: “Best game you’ve ever played. Incredible.”

Anderson will now look to help England reach the World Cup final for the first time since 1966 when they face Argentina on Wednesday.

David Beckham sends support to Elliot Anderson

The legendary former England captain was sitting in the stands watching on as Anderson helped his country claim a huge victory.

Beckham summed up Anderson’s performance with the word ‘brilliant’ which he posted on his Instagram post shortly after the final whistle.

Anderson may have moved to Manchester City but ultimately, he will forever have a place in the hearts of Forest supporters for what he achieved on Trentside.

Now, the hope will be that England can get over the line and Anderson can wear a World Cup winners medal.
