Oliver Glasner will begin work at Nottingham Forest this week, and he’s now announced his coaching team.
Glasner shocked the football world by choosing Forest as his next club amid interest from Manchester United and AC Milan in the past.
Who should be the official Nottingham Forest captain? Stick with Ryan Yates or give it permanently to Morgan Gibbs-White?
Let us know your thoughts…
Glasner has enjoyed two brilliant seasons with Crystal Palace, winning the FA Cup during the 2024/25 campaign and then leading the Eagles to success in the UEFA Conference League last season.
Now, it would appear as though Glasner has got his trusted coaches over the line, with one former Premier League player part of his setup.

Emmanuel Pogatetz named as Oliver Glasner’s assistant
Pogatetz spent a number of years playing for Middlesbrough and proved a fan favourite throughout his time at the Riverside Stadium.
He is the household name in Glasner’s backroom make-up, with the former Austrian international coming in as Glasner’s right-hand man.
It’s not the first time that Pogatetz has worked with Glasner, with the pair together at Palace, where they enjoyed a solid working relationship.
Pogatetz played over 100 times for Middlesbrough in the top-flight, and now he will try to help Glasner bring success to Forest.
Oliver Glasner’s Nottingham Forest coaching staff
Pogatetz will be one of two assistants working underneath Glasner, with Michael Angerschmid also arriving to work at the City Ground.
🤔For £25m would you take Djed Spence back at Nottingham Forest?
Michael Berktold has joined as an Assistant Coach, whilst James Holland will be the Transition Coach and Michael Gspurning will take the goalkeepers for the foreseeable.
These appointments see Glasner get the staff whom he trusted so highly at Selhurst Park and show that Forest are keen to give the head coach what he wishes on Trentside.
Glasner told the club’s official website after the appointments: “I’m delighted that these outstanding coaches have joined me at Nottingham Forest. We’ve shared many successful moments together and, just as importantly, we share the same values, work ethic and determination to build a culture where every player is challenged to reach their highest level. I’m confident they’ll make a hugely positive impact on this football club.”
