Omari Hutchinson proved to be a bit of a slow burner for Nottingham Forest during his maiden campaign at the club.
Hutchinson was a signing made by former sporting director Edu, and at £37.5 million, the addition raised some eyebrows among the fan base.

Given that his start to life at Forest was fraught with inconsistencies, he’s faced a fight to prove himself to the critics, and this season could be the one where he breaks out at the City Ground.
With the players returning for day one of pre-season training, it would appear as though Hutchinson is keen to make some changes, starting with his squad number.

Omari Hutchinson takes Jota Silva’s squad number
Hutchinson has snapped himself on social media after the players reported back for pre-season, sporting a brand new number on his training gear.
Number 20 was vacated in the summer when Silva signed for Olympiacos on a season-long loan, with the Greek team holding an option to sign him permanently too.
Hutchinson wore the number 21 on his shirt last season, and ultimately, it would appear that he’s keen to make a change.
The number 20 was the shirt that Hutchinson wore for the two seasons he spent with Ipswich Town, and clearly, it’s a number that he favours.
Hutchinson will be hoping for a big season during 2026/27, and it will be fascinating to see where Oliver Glasner plans on using him across the campaign.
Glasner might deploy wingers, per se, and as a result, Hutchinson might find himself in a slightly different role where he will hope to make an impact on the team.
The youngster can definitely still have a future at Forest, but it’s fair to say that the fans need to see a little bit more from him during the next campaign.
