Williams has proved a very useful left-back for Forest since being moved to that side of the pitch two seasons ago.

Talks are thought to have been positive with regards to a new contract, and now, Forest’s latest transfer rumour appears to suggest that the Welshman is ready to sign.

Will Oliver Glasner utilise any of the forgotten men at Nottingham Forest? If so, who?

Let us know who you have high hopes for…

Nottingham Forest want Oso

AS believes that Forest – or Olympiacos – are keen to sign Oso this summer, and that could be a telltale sign that Williams is going to sign a new contract.

Forest would welcome a left-sided wing-back who is predominantly left-footed, with Williams often cutting inside to use his favoured right foot.

Oso is only going to cost around £10 million, and as a result, it would imply that Forest are in the market for a cheaper option to act as a backup for Williams.

The Reds have Luca Netz in the ranks as a left-sided wing-back option, and there is an argument that he might be more suited under Glasner than he was under Vitor Pereira.

With Forest going for a cheap, young option, it would appear as though Williams is going to remain as the first choice, and once he’s back at the club, it might only be a matter of time before he signs a new deal.

The move would be extremely popular, and it would be hard to find too many fans who would welcome Williams being replaced in the team for next year.
