Nottingham Forest head coach Oliver Glasner is already making demands of his players just a couple of days into his tenure.

Glasner’s first day of training took place on Monday, with the Forest players put through their paces by the new head coach.

Will Oliver Glasner utilise any of the forgotten men at Nottingham Forest? If so, who?

Let us know who you have high hopes for…

Forest will aim to recover from last season’s drab campaign in the Premier League by kicking on towards the top half this time around.

With no European football as a distraction for Forest in 2026/27, there are no excuses, and Glasner knows the importance of starting well.

Oliver Glasner makes request to World Cup stars

Forest had a number of players featuring at the World Cup, and it’s been claimed that Glasner has made a request of his players.

In his opening interview as the Forest head coach, Glasner shared that he’d held a conversation with all of his players ahead of them returning from the World Cup.

He said: “It starts now, and I’ve already had a call with the players who have been at the World Cup, you know, that maybe they could come back a little bit earlier because I want them to be integrated.

“We found good compromises. Of course, they deserve a break, but yes, we found a very good compromise that they will come back a few days earlier to give us the best chance of preparation.”

Forest need signings for Glasner

Although Forest will want to keep the core of last season’s squad together, it’s also important to get some new players over the line too.

With Glasner wanting around six new players, it’s imperative that things are done pretty quickly to allow for the best possible integration into the squad.

Signing players is never easy, especially in a World Cup year, but it’s certain that due diligence will be getting done on new recruits.

Hopefully, a full squad can be gathered before the campaign gets underway, and Forest could really fly under Glasner if that does prove to be the case.
