Nottingham Forest signed Oleksandr Zinchenko from Arsenal on a season-long loan deal last summer transfer window.
At the time, it seemed like a really smart piece of business, but it quite simply didn’t work out for either party.
Zinchenko made 10 appearances for Forest before returning to Arsenal ahead of schedule in the January window.
Arsenal then sold the Ukraine international to Ajax for a reported £1.2m, but the Dutch giants only offered him a contract until the end of the season.

Unfortunately, the 29-year-old suffered a horrific ACL injury in his second appearance for Ajax, which ruled him out of action for the remainder of the campaign.
Zinchenko’s deal expired last month, and he’s now without a club as he continues his rehabilitation, so it’s a really unfortunate situation.
Hopefully the former Forest defender gets himself back up to fitness and secures a good move, as he’s still in the prime years of his career.
Zinchenko’s options will be limited in the Premier League, but maybe Hull City or Coventry would take a chance on him.
