Balogun bagged 19 goals last season in Ligue 1, and if he does rock up at Forest this summer, there are two players in Oliver Glasner’s squad who are well versed in playing alongside him.
Morgan Gibbs-White’s record playing alongside Folarin Balogun
The Forest number 10 looks set to remain at the City Ground this summer.
As a result, Glasner will likely build his team around Gibbs-White, and that can only bode well based on his 18 goals and seven assists last season.
Gibbs-White has played on the same team as Balogun for the England under-21s, and both players enjoyed success together.
The pair only actually combined for two goals whilst playing for the under-21s, but Balogun has scored five goals when Gibbs-White has been in the team.
Furthermore, Gibbs-White has scored once and claimed three assists in games when Balogun has also been on the pitch.
Omari Hutchinson could welcome Balogun even more than Gibbs-White
Despite Gibbs-White’s record being good in the same team as Balogun, Hutchinson’s is even better!
The pair spent lots of time playing alongside each other for the Arsenal under-23s with a lot of success.
Hutchinson assisted Balogun three times in their eight matches together, with Balogun teeing up one goal for the current Forest player.
Balogun scored eight times during the games he played with Hutchinson, with Forest’s new number 20 scoring twice and claiming four assists.

Whilst some fans might have reservations over whether Balogun can score goals in the Premier League, Forest do have players who can help him settle.
The team spirit is already sky-high at Forest, and with Hutchinson and Gibbs-White familiar with Balogun’s game, perhaps there is some evidence that this can be an astute signing.
