Oliver Glasner has added Xaver Schlager to his Nottingham Forest squad, and another midfielder could arrive at Forest this summer.
It’s unlikely that a free transfer will be considered as a replacement for Elliot Anderson, who joined Manchester City for £116 million, and Tottenham star Lucas Bergvall has been linked.

Bergvall is heading on a pre-season tour to New Zealand and Australia with the Tottenham squad, and nothing appears close at this stage.
However, the player who played for Sweden at the World Cup might be about to make a very sensible decision when it comes to his future.
Lucas Bergvall prefers Forest over Newcastle
On Alasdair Gold’s latest podcast, he made some very intriguing claims about the future of Bergvall.
It appears that he wants to leave Spurs in search of more game time this summer – with the player preferring Forest for that very reason.
He said: “From what I’ve heard, I think Forest is his preference because he would get more game time there.
“But I’m sure he would also jump at the chance to play for Newcastle because obviously terrific club, a terrific fan base in terms of, you know, big stadium; we’ve heard the roar at St. James’s Park is a great place to play, I would imagine.”
If this is to be believed, Forest have every right to get their hopes up over the signing of Bergvall this summer.
It would suggest that the midfielder would be prioritising playing regular football over a big stadium, an ardent fan base and the established Premier League status of Newcastle.
Bergvall is only 20, and he would arrive at Forest with a lot of Premier League and European games under his belt, with lots of untapped potential still to unearth.
Forest should pay Tottenham their asking price for Bergvall
It’s a huge boost for Forest if Gold is right to claim that Newcastle are out of the running to land Bergvall this summer.
It could give Forest a free run at signing the Swede and ultimately, if he’s the man that Oliver Glasner wants, the club would be wise to pay the money.

Bergvall has the level of potential that suggests he could be a very good investment for the future should Forest get a deal over the line.
There does feel as though there is a bit of work to do in order to convince Roberto De Zerbi to let him leave, and the fact he’s gone Down Under on the pre-season tour is a worry.
However, with Bergvall wanting the move, it does feel as though there can be a positive outcome at some point this summer from a Forest perspective.
