Nottingham Forest star Ola Aina is one of the more popular players in the squad, but there is a sense that the next Oliver Glasner move could be bad for him.

Aina arrived at Forest as a free transfer in the summer of 2023 and has become a regular in the team, and his personality in the dressing room is an unsung trait.

However, there is a growing feeling that Forest’s next transfer plan could be terrible news for Aina as Oliver Glasner looks to reshape his squad.

Nottingham Forest push hard to sign Givairo Read

According to Fabrizio Romano, Forest aren’t taking no for an answer when it comes to landing Read this summer, with Feyenoord resigned to losing him.

Forest were knocked back for Read earlier this month, but the Reds have now gone back in with an offer of £18 million to try and land the right-sided wing-back.

Furthermore, Forest have been given the green light to press ahead with Read after the player expressed that he was open to the move.

Personal terms will not be an issue when it comes to Forest landing the Dutch defender, and he could be a very important part of Glasner’s team.

Read signing could be bad news for Aina

The Nigerian performer definitely still has a part to play, but with previous issues when it comes to fitness and injuries, there is a sense that Aina might become a backup in the Forest squad.

If Forest sign Ernest Poku which of our current wingers would you offload first?

If Forest sign Read, he would be a tailor-made player to slot into a system often deployed by Glasner, and that could spell trouble for Aina.

The popular Forest man does still have a part to play at Forest, but if Read gets over the line, it could be nothing more than a bit-part role for the player who has managed to hold down a regular place in the eleven for three seasons.
