Nottingham Forest are getting closer to the signing of Feyenoord defender Givairo Read.
The Dutch defender is getting closer to a move to the City Ground, with Forest locked in negotiations to sign a new right-sided wing-back this summer.
🤔Would you welcome Beto to Nottingham Forest? Is he the sort of striker Oliver Glasner would want spearheading his team?
Let us know in the comments below…
Read is set to cost Forest around £25 million when all is said and done, with the talks between the clubs now centred around how a deal will be structured.
Oliver Glasner has been keen to add a right-back all summer, and it would seem as though the Reds are very close to a breakthrough.
Contract details emerge as Forest near Read signing
Forest are making big strides towards the addition of Read and clearly the club feels that he’s the player capable of pushing Ola Aina for a place in the team.
It would appear that Forest have big plans for Read too, with Nicolo Schira now of the belief that the contract terms will be a five-year deal.

He’s also suggested that talks are now at an advanced stage, with a deal likely to be concluded in the coming days, with Forest still in Portugal.
The Reds’ latest pre-season game ended in a 1-1 draw with Vitoria, with the contest taking place behind closed doors.
Now, Read looks to be edging closer to making the switch to England, and Forest could be pulling off a real coup by getting this one over the line.
Read contract shows intent
This feels like a real coup for the Reds with the 20-year-old likely to kick on considerably in the coming years, with Forest showing their intent with a five-year deal.
It’s a very big deal that Forest want the Feyenoord man to sign such a lengthy contract, and the fact that he’s happy to join the Reds suggests that he’s keen to make the switch.
Is Givairo Read the right player to provide competition for Ola Aina?
How would you rate this signing out of 10?
After the sale of Elliot Anderson, Forest look to be making moves in the transfer market, with Xaver Schlager already signing and Ousmane Diomande very close to signing for the club.
Read would be a signing with bags of potential, and hopefully this deal can get completed quickly to allow him to link up with his new teammates during pre-season.
