Nottingham Forest are going to be in the market for a new striker this summer as Oliver Glasner shapes his squad.
The Reds will have a mini-rebuild to take care of during the transfer window, and new players are going to be arriving.
Xaver Schlager has already checked in on Trentside, with Ousmane Diomande and Givairo Read also among the players seemingly close to heading to Forest.
Now, the Reds are in the market for a new striker and a Chelsea player looks to be in their sights.
Nottingham Forest want Liam Delap
According to The Telegraph, Forest have placed Delap back on their transfer radar as they look to seal a new striker this summer.
Xabi Alonso has had some time to look at his new players, and it would seem as though Delap is now surplus at Stamford Bridge.
Delap endured a pretty traumatic first season with Chelsea during 2025/26, with the talisman scoring three goals and claiming five assists from 47 appearances.
His form for Ipswich is perhaps the best benchmark to judge him on. Delap earned the move to Stamford Bridge with 12 goals from 40 games during 2024/25.
Last season, Delap was called ‘brilliant’ by Micah Richards after a dominant performance against Hull in the FA Cup, and there is potential with the 23-year-old.

During his time with Ipswich, Delap was tipped as the only viable number nine to replace England striker Harry Kane and he will be keen to get back on that pedestal.
Forest won’t be the only club in the mix to sign Delap this summer, but this could be a very useful signing for the Reds.
Delap might not have made the grade at Chelsea, but under Glasner he could rediscover himself and start to score the goals that he’s more than capable of.
