Nottingham Forest were in action on Friday night against Crystal Palace.
Nottingham Forest fans have been left unimpressed by the performance of Lewis Grabban during the club’s pre-season friendly with the Premier League side on Friday.
Sabri Lamouchi’s side continue to build their fitness and match sharpness ahead of the Football League’s big kick-off in a few weeks.
The Forest boss, like against Olympiacos, named a strong starting line-up for the fixture before making five substitutions throughout the second half.
Lewis Grabban was given the opportunity to lead the line and show that he can be the main man for the Reds this season. However, he struggled to make an impact against the Eagles.
He showed glimpses of quality in his link-up play with the likes of Joe Lolley and Albert Adomah, but ultimately didn’t look like scoring. He’ll be hoping he can rediscover his goalscoring touch early on in the season.
Signing from AFC Bournemouth for £6 million last summer, Grabban still has a lot to offer at this level.
However, if he continues to struggle in pre-season then he might make it more important for the Reds to sign another striker before the transfer window closes.
The 31-year-old scored 16 goals in the Championship last season for the Reds. However, it would’ve been a lot more had he not struggled with injury.
Nonetheless, some supporters seem concerned with the striker’s recent performances, with some taking to Twitter over the weekend to share their thoughts.
There striker being the main must imo, grabban cant do it all alone, but all in all hopefull for a good year

Need a top quality striker – thought Grabban looked pretty lethargic last night after the first 20 minutes

I agree mate, tbh Grabban often looks disinterested and a bit lazy, the goals will come from him again tho I’m sure. He does a decent job up front on his own.

People just see his attitude and think he’s not arsed! Great player and goal scorer but once he losses interest there’s no turning him round. Fingers crossed he’s still happy here!

I agree great goal scorer when fit , but he doesn’t stay fit and wont play a full season, or probably even half.
