Ryan Yates has outlined to Nottinghamshire Live how Nottingham Forest can over Wycombe Wanderers this afternoon.

The Reds will be looking to complete back-to-back victories when the newly promoted team arrive at the City Ground later on.

Forest secured a last-gasp win over Coventry City in midweek with Lyle Taylor firing home a late penalty.

Wycombe will pose Chris Hughton’s team with a different threat this afternoon and Yates has highlighted what Forest need to do.

He told Nottinghamshire Live: “I think we have to stay confident, trust our ability and we should have more than enough to win.

“We did well first half against Coventry but the second half was flat. We need to be dominating second halves at home when we’re winning.

“There are many ways to win a game and we got there in the end.

“We need to pin teams back but it’s onto the next one. There are things to work on.

“We’ve had good spells but we need to do that for 90 minutes and we need to create more chances.”

Yates was on the bench in midweek with Hughton preferring Jack Colback and Samba Sow in midfield.

The academy graduate has been in decent form this season but will continue striving for consistency.

With Harry Arter also back in the mix, the competition for midfield places is heating up.

Yates has played 54 games for the Reds since graduating through the club’s academy ranks.

He still divides opinion among some supporters, although given his age there is plenty of time for him to continue his development.

Yates will hope to return to the team for this afternoon’s game.
