Tyrese Fornah made his first start for Nottingham Forest during last night’s 2-1 win over Bradford City. The 21-year-old started in central midfield and claimed the Man of the Match accolade. Afterwards, he received Instagram praise from a Watford player and Tendayi Darikwa.
Fornah started the game in midfield alongside Cafu. He started to impose himself on the game from the off and didn’t look out of place. If anything, it was clear that his loan spell at Plymouth last season has helped him.
The 21-year-old played over 40 times for the Pilgrims last season. He was a mainstay in Ryan Lowe’s team and helped them stabilise as a League One outfit.
Following his standout performance for the Reds during his first start for the club, Fornah took to social media. He spoke of his pride at pulling on the famous Garibaldi.
What did Watford player and Darikwa say about Forest gem Fornah?
Darikwa left for Wigan in January. After just six months at the club, he’s been offered a new contract and has been named the club captain for the 2021/22 campaign.
He offered Fornah some kind words after his standout performance last night, summing up his thoughts with a three-word post.
Ngakia has played 26 games for Watford and looks set to earn a shot at the Premier League this season.
It’s not clear how he knows Fornah, although their paths have probably crossed during their youth careers.
He summed his performance up with a flame emoji and it proved an accurate assessment of the player’s performance.
It will now be interesting to see how the season pans out for Fornah. He will hope to force his way into Chris Hughton’s plans and with a lack of central midfielders, that could be possible.
Forest face Bournemouth in their first league game of the season on Saturday. Fornah faces an anxious wait to see if he will be involved or not.
