Nottingham Forest showed their character once more as Jack Colback salvaged the Reds a point against QPR.
Trailing thanks to Lyndon Dykes’ first-half goal, Forest were trailing heading into injury time.
A scrumptious volley from Colback nestled into the corner of Seny Dieng’s net to send the visiting supporters into raptures.
It was no more than Forest deserved. The Reds were the better side for the majority of the contest and were denied two penalties in the first half.
Colback has been in fine form since coming into the team and he lasted the full 90 minutes at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.
He is one of many players enjoying a new lease of life under Steve Cooper and he’s keeping on-loan Manchester United man James Garner out of the side.
Colback has taken some time to get going at the City Ground as a permanent player.
When he signed last summer he was relatively rusty. By the end of the campaign, he’d been frozen out completely by Chris Hughton.
Colback is made of stern stuff. He got his head down in pre-season and clearly came back this time around with a point to prove.
What have Forest fans said about Colback?
Clearly, they were satisfied with what Colback had to offer in the closing stages against QPR.
The challenge for the 32-year-old is to continue playing his way back to his best form and ultimately keep his place in Cooper’s team.
Against the R’s he played brilliantly in some parts but gave the ball away in other areas of the pitch cheaply.
Despite that, the fan base were buzzing with his heroics in stoppage time and took to Twitter to discuss his performance.
