Joe Lolley is a marvel with a football at his feet and now the Nottingham Forest star has snapped back at former Manchester United man Rio Ferdinand on Instagram.

The former centre-back turned pundit has weighed into the discussion involving the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Ferdinand was adamant that the club needed to make the change, but that doesn’t match up with his opinion on his podcast this week.

The man who played 81 times for England has now claimed that the United players need to take a long, hard look at themselves too.

Ferdinand earned a big move to Manchester United in 2002. He spent 12 years at Old Trafford; revolutionising the role of the ball-playing defender in English football.

He won six Premier League titles and helped United win the Champions League during the 2007/08 campaign.

Ferdinand famously said ‘Manchester United are back’ after Solskjaer led United to a famous win against PSG; calling for the Red Devils to give him the job permanently.

They listened but his time as permanent boss saw United fail to lift a trophy and regress as a football club.

What has Forest star Lolley said about Ferdinand?

It’s fair to say the Forest trickster doesn’t agree with Ferdinand’s latest comments on his podcast.

He has fired back with a five-word battering that suggests the former United man hasn’t really got a clue what he’s talking about.

Lolley will hope to take his frustration with Ferdinand out on Luton tonight after starting in Steve Cooper’s team on Saturday.

The 29-year-old is slowly but surely working his way back towards his best form; although a few more goals and assists certainly wouldn’t go amiss.
