Nottingham Forest have drawn Arsenal in the FA Cup once again and Miltiadis Marinakis has delivered his reaction to the draw.
The son of owner Evangelos Marinakis took to Twitter; with the draw threw up a repeat of a famous win for Forest in 2018.
The Gunners arrived on Trentside with a weakened team on that occasion and were sent back to London licking their wounds.
It was the beginning of the end for Arsene Wenger and it’s fair to say their fans left Nottingham as a thoroughly disgruntled bunch.
Both teams are in different places right now.
Arsenal are struggling for consistency; whilst Forest are hoping to turn some draws into wins and start climbing the Championship table.
The FA Cup draw is a pretty exciting one for the Reds fan base. On positive is that they’ll take on a Premier League side on home soil.
After last night’s defeat to Everton, perhaps Mikel Arteta will start to feel the heat a bit and he won’t fancy a trip to Forest.
There is of course lots of football to play before then. Steve Cooper will have his team more than ready when the game comes around.
What has Marinakis said about Forest drawing Arsenal?
The son of the Forest chief took to Twitter within minutes of last night’s draw to sum up his feelings using just a single word.
Forest played Arsenal in the Carabao Cup in 2019 too. On that occasion, they were thrashed 5-0 at the Emirates Stadium.
Marinakis has been a regular at Forest games this season and he’s cut a passionate figure on social media after games.
He will hope that he can be cheering from the rooftops after Forest have played Arsenal in early January.
