James Garner has done superbly well at Nottingham Forest and perhaps the relationship with Manchester United can be tapped into in the future.
Bearing that in mind, we’ve looked at three players Forest should look to sign on loan from Old Trafford in January.
Shola Shoretire

The 17-year-old did earn a first-team chance last season, albeit a fleeting one.
During 2021/22 he has been a regular in the under-23 ranks, scoring six goals and claiming four assists from 17 appearances.
Shoretire is a versatile forward and he will surely embark on a loan move at some point.
Forest will be in the market for a forward in January and perhaps Shoretire represents a decent option.
Alvaro Fernandez

Left-back is another area where Forest find themselves particularly light.
As a result, Cooper may look to try and sign one during the January window and why not Fernandez.
The Spaniard arrived at Old Trafford in September 2020 from Real Madrid.
This season he has scored three goals and claimed four assists from 19 appearances for the under-23s.
He could provide Max Lowe with some competition and allow Jack Colback to concentrate on playing in midfield.
Charlie McNeill

It’s no secret whatsoever that Forest will be in the market for a striker.
Folarin Balogun and Keinan Davis have been linked but other targets will be on the radar.
Cooper is keen to add a younger striker and McNeill is one who is enjoying a fine campaign.
He has scored eight goals in 19 appearances for the United under-23s and looks like a future star.
Getting him out on loan could be ideal for United and he would surely relish the chance to join Forest.
