Nottingham Forest were beaten for the second game in succession as Huddersfield produced a smash and grab at the City Ground. After the game, Xande Silva came in for some praise.

The Reds were far the better side but wasted a whole host of chances to score and put the Terriers to the sword.

Steve Cooper was left scratching his head after the game. The head coach also confirmed that Covid has ravaged his Forest squad and the academy is currently closed.

This will be a game that Forest will want to forget quickly. They’ll be desperate to get their game against Barnsley on for Monday and try and return to winning ways.

Forest created chance after chance and Silva turned in a pretty eye-catching performance on the left-wing. It was his first start for the club and it came six months after he signed for the Reds.

Silva was forced to play. Alex Mighten will miss two months and Joe Lolley is also out injured for a little while.

With that in mind, Forest may have to rethink their plans to sell Silva. It was reported earlier this month that the former West Ham man had agreed on a deal to move back to Greece.

What have Forest fans said about Silva?

It’s fair to say they were impressed. There were, of course, some of the usual cynics out in full force but ultimately he did a decent job.

With injuries stacking up, the Reds might need to move quickly to sign some players. Keinan Davis is one player thought to be close to signing for Forest, with a medical pencilled in for tomorrow.

Last night the Reds fans took to Twitter to praise Silva though and plenty were desperately impressed with him.
