Sun Journalist Alan Nixon, thinks Nottingham Forest are going to sign Jed Wallace. The 27-year-old has been linked with the Reds and his contract will be up at Millwall during the summer.

Forest face competition for him. Leeds, Watford and Besiktas have all been touted as potential suitors before the end of the month.

Nixon has claimed that transfers are never done until they are done. He does, however, believe that Wallace to the City Ground will happen.

Forest have been proactive when it comes to doing business this month. Keinan Davis has joined on loan from Aston Villa, with Steve Cook and Richie Laryea signing on permanent deals.

The club isn’t finished yet though. With Alex Mighten and Joe Lolley both injured, Steve Cooper is keen to ensure his attacking ranks are well stocked before the deadline.

Wallace would be an interesting signing. At 27, he is approaching his prime and he’s proved himself in the Championship during his career.

He has made 243 appearances for the Lions, scoring 41 goals and claiming 43 assists. Perhaps more exciting is that Wallace can operate in a number of advanced roles.

Millwall don’t want their star man to leave for free. With that in mind, they will have to ensure they can get the very best deal for their player this month.

Quality: Wallace would be great addition to Forest ranks

This would be a tremendous piece of business if Forest can get it over the line. Wallace is a proven performer in the second tier and he would bring something different to the ranks.

Signing him won’t be easy. Other clubs could make bids, with both Leeds and Watford currently operating in the Premier League.

Forest do look to be in pole position though. If they can get a deal in place for Wallace, it’s a deal that is sure to delight the club’s long-suffering supporters.
