Arsenal and Tottenham have been quoted £12 million for Nottingham Forest loan star Djed Spence, according to the Evening Standard.

The Reds took the 21-year-old on loan from Middlesbrough during the summer. He has made 20 appearances and is playing unbelievably well.

His form has seen vast interest emerge. Arsenal, Spurs, Inter, Roma and Leeds are all thought to be considering bids.

The interest from Mikel Arteta and Antonio Conte is perhaps the most intriguing. Both Arsenal and Tottenham are considering making a bid to Middlesbrough this month.

It’s not all bad news for Forest fans. Spence has already played for two clubs this season and as a result, he looks set to stay at the City Ground until the end of the campaign.

Forest’s hopes of signing Spence have clearly taken a hit. His strong form is attracting interest from the top-flight and nobody could begrudge him that.

It’s remarkable to think that Neil Warnock didn’t fancy Spence at Boro. Their fans must be wondering what might have been had the youngster stayed at the Riverside Stadium.

For Forest, the optimism will be that his form can help the Reds into the Premier League. If he does that, keeping him might not be such a crazy thought.

The right-back has come of age in the Garibaldi. His efforts down the right-hand side have been superb and it’s no shock that bigger clubs are circling.

All Forest can do is enjoy him whilst he remains at the City Ground. It’s no good for the Reds to focus much further into the future than the next game.

Spence has been mesmerising down the right-hand side. Supporters will hope his form can continue and the Reds can reach the Championship play-offs.
