Nottingham Forest linked midfielder Jay Fulton is wanted by Barnsley and Blackpool this month, according to Alan Nixon of The Sun.
When Steve Cooper first arrived at the City Ground, SCFC2 claimed that the Reds wanted to add the maestro to their ranks.
One thing that Cooper will have learned, however, is that Forest boast a plethora of midfield options at the club.
Ryan Yates, James Garner and Jack Colback have all been brilliant under the head coach. Braian Ojeda and Cafu provide further options from the bench.
Now, Fulton does look likely to be on the move, however. Both Blackpool and Barnsley are in need of reinforcements and want the Swans outcast.
Russell Martin simply hasn’t fancied the 27-year-old at all. He’s made just seven appearances during 2021/22 and hasn’t featured at all in the Championship since September.
Fulton was an integral part of the Swansea team under Cooper. Last season he made 47 appearances and was actually sent off in the Championship play-off final.
Martin hasn’t fancied him though and he’s slipped off the radar. Leaving looks like the best option and Championship clubs are circling.
In total, he’s made 155 appearances for Swansea but could now have played his last game for the club.
Will Forest move for Fulton?
It does seem unlikely, purely based on the plethora of talent that Forest have at their disposal in the midfield engine room.
Fulton doesn’t really offer anything that Yates doesn’t in the middle of the park and Cooper isn’t going to be dropping him anytime soon.

It could be one for Cooper to look at in the summer, however. Garner will return to Manchester United and Cafu could leave.
That might leave Forest in a position where they need another player and at 27, Fulton is at a pretty decent age to continue playing at a good level for a few more years.
