Gary Brazil has heaped praise on Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis following a big announcement from the club yesterday.

The Reds have received planning permission from Rushcliffe Borough Council to redevelop some of the facilities at the training ground.

Several changes will be made to bring Forest’s training ground into a new era and promote it to the 21st century.

The new academy building will include 14 changing rooms, three classrooms, a gym, a physio room, an analysis suite plus additional on-site car parking.

This ambitious project fits in with Marinakis being keen to improve the infrastructure throughout the whole club.

It’s not clear when the work will start but getting the green light seems like good news for Forest.

The academy teams are enjoying pretty steady maiden campaigns playing in Premier League competitions.

Andy Reid’s men are in the hunt for a play-off place, whilst Warren Joyce has led his under-18s to the semi-final of the FA Youth Cup.

Brazil is now the Director of Professional Development at the football club and he’s delighted with this latest news.

Foret’s training ground is perhaps in need of some work and these changes should bode well for Forest going forward.

What has Brazil said about new Forest plans?

It’s fair to say he’s over the moon. Plenty will see this as a big day for the club and the plans for the new facilities look amazing.

Brazil has taken to Twitter to thanks the Forest chief for his backing and he believes this will be a positive step in producing more players.

The Forest figure already has the back of the Reds supporters, given the tireless work he does annually to produce homegrown talent.

Several players produced by the academy are currently in Steve Cooper’s first team. This step could ensure more make the grade in years to come.
