Nottingham Forest thrashed Reading 4-0 at the City Ground yesterday. Keinan Davis opened the scoring after just 17 seconds and after the game, he received praise on Instagram from Ezri Konsa and Cafu.

The 23-year-old produced a breathtaking turn and lethal finish in the opening minutes. Reading hadn’t even touched the ball when Luke Southwood was picking the ball out of his own net.

Davis added a second early in the second half and from that moment, Forest were absolutely tremendous. Ryan Yates and Sam Surridge added further goals.

Davis has been a brilliant loan signing for Forest. Steven Gerrard decided not to keep the talisman at the club and the Reds were on hand to pounce for the youngster.

Steve Cooper has raved about the talented striker. He also admitted after yesterday’s game that he tried to sign him when he was the manager of Swansea City.

Forest’s new number nine is really proving himself to the supporters. Some were critical of his signing given a less than impressive goalscoring ratio at Villa Park.

In context, however, a lot of his appearances at Villa have come from the bench and that had led to a pretty barren run in front of goal.

What have Cafu and Konsa said about Forest star Davis?

Cafu was a star performer during yesterday’s game against Reading. He came on with half-time looming to replace Max Lowe who was forced off through injury.

He has raved about Davis on the player’s Instagram and he is clearly enjoying playing alongside him.

Konsa will know all about the brute strength of Davis. He will have experienced coming up against it in training and he too has praised Davis.

The challenge for the striker now is consistency. He will hope to keep firing and shoot Forest into a play-off place between now and the end of the season.
