Nottingham Forest head coach Steve Cooper has heaped praise on Keinan Davis after the Reds battered Reading 4-0 at the City Ground.

It was a vintage performance by the Reds, with the on-loan Aston Villa man scoring twice for his temporary club.

Forest are motoring along just nicely and remain firmly in the hunt for a play-off place during 2021/22.

What Cooper has done in such a short space of time is pretty remarkable really and things are on the up for Forest.

Davis was an intriguing signing during the January transfer window.

Forest moves quickly to sign him amid some criticism, with some fans uncertain over his goal record.

Davis has caught the eye of supporters with some unbelievable power and his hold up play is excellent.

Yesterday he added a couple of deserved goals to his performance and after the game, Cooper made an admission about him.

He told Nottinghamshire Live: “I really wanted to sign him at Swansea, so when there was a chance to do it here, we didn’t hesitate. It’s great to have him here.

“Sometimes you see the powerful player around the box who can make things happen but he’s also a really good technical player. He’s difficult to play against too. He’s a combative player and a good footballer too.

“If he can keep playing that, he’s going to do alright.”

Davis can fire Forest to glory

Frankly, Davis has been immense for Forest. His hold-up play is quality and now he’s adding goals to his game.

The on-loan Aston Villa man is only on loan and sure the Reds will be looking to land him on a permanent basis in the summer.

Steven Gerrard does rate Davis but ultimately, they will seek new signings and that could shunt him down the pecking order.

Forest have to act as Davis has become a firm fan favourite. Not only that but at 23 he could become a mainstay in the Reds team for years to come.
