Nottingham Forest midfielder Jack Colback has praised Manchester United owned James Garner during an interview with The Athletic.

The Reds starlet has come of age during 2021/22. He has been a mainstay in the team since checking in from United and is showcasing his quality.

Forest beat off a host of clubs to land Garner for a second City Ground stint. During the second half of last season, he scored four goals in 20 appearances for the Reds.

When Chris Hughton fought off Rangers, Norwich and Sheffield United, it was deemed as something of a coup. Garner hasn’t let Forest down and is integral to Steve Cooper’s team.

The Best XI Already NOT Going To The 2022 World Cup

Now, Colback has praised him too. The fiery midfielder is busy playing left-back in place of Max Lowe at the moment but he has played in midfield with him a few times.

He told The Athletic: “Technically he’s really good. Jimmy has made a difference because, when he is on it with his delivery, it’s obscene how good he can be. You can see why he’s at Manchester United.”

The 21-year-old has scored three goals and claimed six assists for the Reds during the current season. He will hope for a few more between now and May.

Garner will surely earn United chance after Forest spells

The maestro has been a breath of fresh air at the City Ground. He has rolled his sleeves up and really works tirelessly for the team.

His delivery into the box is fantastic and his passing radar is outstanding. He’s also struck up a ridiculously good partnership with Ryan Yates in the Forest engine room.

Garner will surely get a chance to shine at Old Trafford. The Red Devils are crying out for a midfield maestro and some youthful exuberance could be ideal.

If United do decide he’s not for them; there will always be a place for Garner at Forest!
