Jed Wallace has told Not The Top 20 podcast that he thinks Nottingham Forest will defeat Huddersfield at Wembley.
The Reds face the Terriers tomorrow with a place in next season’s Premier League on the line.
Wallace was fancied by Forest during the January transfer window; with the player admitting there was interest from Steve Cooper.
Millwall didn’t fancy letting him go though, quoting the Reds £9 million for a player who had just six months remaining on his contract.
Forest could return for Wallace. Now, on a free, there will be several clubs vying for his signature, however.
Wallace has now backed the Reds to win at Wembley tomorrow and has even predicted a goalscorer.
He told Not The Top 20 podcast: “You’ve got to remember Forest tried to sign me in January!
“I think the first goal is huge. I would say 2-0 Forest, with Davis to score off the bench.”
It will certainly be interesting to see where Wallace ends up playing his football next season.
He had Leeds, Besiktas and Middlesbrough vying for his services in January and now, more interested parties could emerge.
At 28, Wallace is now in his prime and that makes him a very attractive option on a free transfer.
Wallace backs Forest and he could be playing for the Reds next season
The Millwall man could find himself playing for Forest next season.
Regardless of what happens at Wembley tomorrow, there is every chance that Wallace will remain on the radar.
Despite several injury setbacks, the versatile winger scored six goals and claimed 11 assists during 2021/22.
The Reds need to add to their squad during the summer and if promotion isn’t secured, finances could be tight.
As a result, Wallace looks like a perfect addition to the ranks and Steve Cooper could be capable of attracting talent of his nature.
