Nottingham Forest will make a bid for Djed Spence following their promotion from the Premier League yesterday, according to Sky Sports.

The 21-year-old has been bang in form for the Reds and he cut an emotional figure following yesterday’s 1-0 win over Huddersfield.

Forest can’t waste any time now.

The club must enjoy the celebrations but ultimately, they can’t delay in strengthening their squad.

Spence is available for sale at Middlesbrough with suggestions that he could cost up to £20 million.

The Championship outfit want Spence gone pretty quickly.

Chris Wilder is keen to raise funds for his own recruitment drive and offloading Spence would help massively.

Spence has been outstanding for Forest during the 2021/22 campaign.

He’s scored three goals and claimed five assists but it’s his overall performances that have impressed the most.

Spence checked in on loan from Boro back in August and eyebrows were raised among the fan base.

The player’s form has been so good that England under-21 have come calling and he won his first cap in March.

Forest will face competition from other clubs for his signature.

Bayern Munich have scouted him several times, whilst Tottenham are also monitoring the situation.

Given his affiliation with Forest, however, they could hold the aces.

Forest want Spence and supporters would be delighted

This would be a remarkable start to the club’s transfer business.

Forest extended their season by three weeks by reaching the play-offs and now they must act.

Spence is clearly a player with lots of potential and he would tick a lot of boxes for Forest.

He knows the club, loves playing for the Reds and ultimately he improves the team when he plays.

With that in mind, signing Spence is a complete no-brainer from a Forest point of view.
