Football Insider have claimed that Everton are preparing to make a bid for Nottingham Forest-linked star Morgan Gibbs-White.

The Toffees are sitting on a bounty of cash after selling Richarlison to Tottenham for £60 million last week.

Frank Lampard will go in search of a replacement as a matter of urgency and it seems Gibbs-White is on the radar.

Forest and Southampton are very keen to sign the Wolves starlet before the transfer window closes.

The Reds are in search of some attacking talent and Gibbs-White is a player that Steve Cooper knows well.

He took him to Swansea on loan during 2020/21 but a broken foot saw him make just six appearances.

Cooper is keen on a reunion with Gibbs-White at Forest though but he faces stiff competition.

The Reds head coach previously called the player ‘fantastic’ shortly after picking him up on loan for the Swans.

Everton are a sizeable club even if they’ve lost their way somewhat in recent years.

Likewise, Southampton have a decent history with younger players and they are likely to fancy their chances of signing him.

Gibbs-White scored 13 goals and registered 10 assists during his loan spell with Sheffield United last season.

He scored against Forest in the play-offs but then missed the decisive penalty that sent the Reds to Wembley in the shootout.

It’s been claimed that Wolves want around £25 million for Gibbs-White and the race looks set to heat up.

Everton to make bid for Gibbs-White and Forest face a fight

The Reds will have a list of targets to try and sign this summer but Gibbs-White is likely to be close to the top.

He’s a quality young talent and Forest would love to tie him down ahead of his best years.

Everton will have significant financial clout, however, particularly after selling Richarlison.

He should be capable of playing regularly at Goodison Park and the player may have a big decision to make.

Forest will be desperate to get a deal for Gibbs-White over the line.

He’s likely to be one of Cooper’s top targets to bolster his attacking ranks and as a result, he will hope to win the race.
