Nottingham Forest are edging closer to agreeing on a deal with Palmeiras to complete the signing of Danilo, according to the Daily Mail. The 21-year-old is keen to sign for the Reds and Steve Cooper is desperately courting a midfield enforcer.
Forest now look to be close to seeing this deal through, amid interest from a host of Premier League clubs. Arsenal have courted the player heavily, with Newcastle, Leeds and Aston Villa all showing interest.

Furthermore, Get French Football News claim that Monaco are rivalling the Reds for Danilo. They’re prepared to make a cash-plus player bid, with Jean Lucas being offered to Palmeiras.
It’s the Reds that look to have won the race though. This signing would represent the first under sporting director Filippo Giraldo and it looks like an exciting addition to the ranks.
Danilo has won a couple of Copa Libertadores titles with Palmeiras. Last season, he helped the Brazilian outfit claim the league title in the same team as new Forest signing Gustavo Scarpa.
The Mail claim that Forest have fought off all the competition for the signature of a talented player. Despite being 21-years-old, the Brazilian has made 141 appearances for his club and that should bode well.
Forest edging closer to Danilo signing
The Reds look to be nearing a deal to sign a highly talented performer. With Cheikhou Kouyate currently injured, it’s fair to say that Forest do need some more steel in midfield.
In Danilo, the Reds are getting a potential star of the game for just £20 million. His valuation could increase considerably in the coming years and Forest could have themselves a real gem.

The Palmeiras player is thought to have sounded Scarpa out about heading to the City Ground. That must mean that he’s keen on the deal and the 29-year-old should help him settle.
Danilo is strong in possession, loves to tackle and also covers a lot of ground for his time. He looks like an ideal player to replace Kouyate and the Reds fan base will love this deal to come to fruition.
