Nottingham Forest star Brennan Johnson has raved about Morgan Gibbs-White during Saturday’s edition of Football Focus. The pair have been in fine form since the World Cup and the Reds are starting to thrive with the duo in the team.
After speaking with the BBC show, Forest went and drew with Bournemouth. Interestingly, Gibbs-White and Johnson linked up in the build-up to Sam Surridge’s equalising goal a the Vitality Stadium.
Gibbs-White has been brilliant for Johnson. Together, the duo have helped the Reds climb up the Premier League table and there is more to come from both.
Johnson has been quizzed on his relationship with his Forest teammate and he’s enjoying playing alongside him at the City Ground.
The 21-year-old told Football Focus: “I just know a lot about him. Obviously, I knew a bit about him from last season when we played Sheffield United.
“I know that he’s a player that likes to play with his head up and I’m a player that likes to run in behind and I feel like he’s got the quality to find me. It’s happened a lot this season.”
Gibbs-White has six goal contributions to his name this season. As a young player that isn’t a bad return and he will definitely be a massive player for Forest this season.
Johnson has raved about Gibbs-White and both are integral
It goes without saying that Forest need both of their young talents fit and firing to stay up this season. Gibbs-White and Johnson have a massive part to play and keeping them fit will be huge.
Johnson scored 19 goals and claimed 10 assists last season. Against Leicester recently he scored his first Premier League goals from open play since August and has four to his name this season.
Clearly, there is more to come from Johnson. And too for Gibbs-White, who despite his brilliant form will still want to keep improving and keep registering more goal contributions.
Together they will be massively important for the Reds this season and fans will look forward to seeing more of the talismanic duo in tandem.
