Jermaine Jenas has heaped praise on Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White during an interview with Metro. The Reds signed the tricky playmaker from Wolves in the summer for a club-record transfer fee.
Gibbs-White was Steve Cooper’s number-one target following promotion to the Premier League. Forest paid £25 million upfront for the player and the fee could actually rise to around £42.5 million.
The 23-year-old has been brilliant for the Reds. He’s constantly trying to make things happen and his work rate has been unrivalled in the Forest squad this season.

Cooper knows the talented youngster well. He played for his England under-17 team that won the World Cup and the Forest head coach also managed him at Swansea City.
Jenas was quizzed on who he thinks has been the best Forest player this season. He chose Gibbs-White and raved about him during the interview.
The Match of the Day host told Metro: “Morgan Gibbs-White has been a standout performer with and without the ball. He has a bit extra and he works his socks off.”
Gibbs-White will be striving for more goals. He’s scored twice since checking in at the City Ground but he has registered five assists during his time at the club.

The youngster has been a superb signing. Forget the transfer fee, if Gibbs-White continues developing at his current rate, the Reds will comfortably make a profit on that.
Jenas clearly hopes to see Forest remain in the Premier League. He’s a fan favourite down at the City Ground and remains a Forest supporter to this day.

Gibbs-White probably should have more assists. Some moments have led to good chances being created but some wayward finishing has cost him an assist or two.
Forest face Everton at the weekend. They were thumped 4-0 by Arsenal last night and it looks like the game on Sunday is massive for both teams.
If Forest are to stay up this season, Gibbs-White will be vitally important to the Reds.
