Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper has delivered a fitness update on Ryan Yates ahead of tonight’s game against Leeds United.
The Reds head to Elland Road and the head coach has delivered a small injury update to the club’s website following the quick turnaround from Saturday.
Yates missed the game against Wolves with a shoulder problem and it would appear that he won’t be making the trip to West Yorkshire either.

The 25-year-old has been sorely missed in recent weeks. His battling qualities are there for all to see and he’s a respected member of the dressing room.
But, it’s been confirmed by Cooper that Yates won’t be playing again for Forest this evening.

He told the club’s official website: “Yatesy won’t be available with his shoulder injury, the other guys we haven’t ruled in or out yet. It’s still a mixed bag in terms of availability.”
Yates has struggled for game time lately, missing some games with an unknown illness. He returned against Newcastle last month but picked up a shoulder problem.
The vice-captain is a real terrier in the engine room and Forest desperately need to get him back.
Cooper has delivered an update on Yates ahead of Leeds
Whilst this clearly isn’t good news, there’s an argument to suggest that Yates wouldn’t have played tonight anyway.
The Forest midfield looked the best it’s looked for ages on Saturday; with Remo Freuler, Orel Mangala and Danilo all playing extremely well.

Yates is a big player, however, and Forest will hope that he’s back in contention sooner rather than later.
The talented player is a real warrior and as a homegrown player, he will fight tooth and nail to ensure that Forest don’t drop back into the Championship.
Yates will miss out again tonight and that’s not ideal. If the team can come through tonight’s game unscathed, perhaps the midfielder can make a return at Aston Villa on Saturday.
