Alan Rogers doesn’t think Nottingham Forest should consider sacking Steve Cooper despite a morale-sapping defeat at the hands of Leeds United.
The Reds led at Elland Road but found themselves 2-1 down at the break after goals from Jack Harrison and Luis Sinisterra.
Forest are now outside the drop zone on goal difference alone and defeat on Saturday to Aston Villa would see them slip into the bottom three.

Cooper’s position is under consideration, according to some reports. Evangelos Marinakis is considering making a change with the team now eight without victory.
It’s not clear who is in line to replace the 43-year-old if he does go. What will have to be determined is who could possibly come in and do a better job than Cooper.
Forest have to start showing a bit more fight on the pitch. Despite leading at Elland Road they once again reverted to type and made life too easy for Leeds.
Rogers had two spells with Forest as a player. He made 154 appearances in total and was a firm fan favourite at left-back.
He’s taken to Twitter to suggest that Cooper shouldn’t be sacked. Rogers believes that the work he’s done should allow him the chance to bring Forest back if they end up being relegated.

The defender makes some very valid points. It’s hard to believe that many Forest fans would be so vigorously in favour of the club parting with Cooper.
He’s bought into the whole culture of not just Nottingham Forest but also the city. He’s also got everyone singing from the same hymn sheet for the first time in many years.

Rogers is certainly in the Cooper should stay camp and said on Twitter: “Absolutely not no. Why? The job he’s done has been immense. Now is the time to show loyalty. Burnley under Dyche promotion first season. Relegated the second season.”
Cooper’s future remains uncertain but Rogers is in no doubt as to where his loyalties lie.
