Richards Keys has defended Nottingham Forest head coach Steve Cooper. In the true style of the disgraced former Sky Sports pundit, he’s taken a smarmy outlook on the situation at the City Ground.
The Reds are staring at the Championship once again after a single season in the Premier League. Sunday’s defeat to Manchester United leaves them in the bottom three of the division.

Forest need to start winning games very soon. Otherwise, the club will get relegated and Steve Cooper will probably struggle to cling to his job as the club’s head coach.
Evangelos Marinakis has not been happy with the recent form. He released a statement earlier this month suggesting that results and performances needed to improve and they really haven’t.
Next up for the Reds is Liverpool at Anfield. They defeated Leeds 6-1 at Elland Road last night and it looks like being a thankless task to take anything from that game.
Keys has taken a told-you-so style opinion on the club’s current affairs. He also claims that he feels some sympathy for Cooper who is trying his best amid the chaos.
He said in his latest blog: “I’m genuinely sorry to see Steve Cooper struggling. He’s a good guy working in a madhouse atmosphere created by another self-absorbed owner. I know I upset Forest fans by pointing this out at the start of the season. Sorry – but it was oh so predictable.”
Keys has defended Cooper
The man who was sacked by Sky Sports doesn’t half have some strange opinions. He seems to get a huge kick out of his opinions coming right but he should remember that Forest aren’t relegated yet.
Keys is right to feel some sympathy for the head coach. However, he’s not completely blameless for the current situation that Forest find themselves in.

Okay, perhaps the number of new players was excessive. However, we’re now in April and Cooper still hasn’t found a style of play that seemingly suits the players at his disposal.
Keys’ words could actually motivate Forest. He’s talking like the Reds are already down and perhaps this blog should be pinned on the dressing room wall for the next few weeks.
