A report has claimed that Ryan Yates has pleaded with Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper to let him travel to away games – even though he’s injured.
The Reds’ vice-captain has found things difficult of late, making just three appearances since February.
At the moment he’s out with a shoulder problem and he’s not expected to play against Brighton this evening.

Yates has been sorely missed. The Reds have missed his energy in midfield and they will hope he returns this season.
The 25-year-old has been forced to work hard to prove his critics wrong. Now, however, the fan base are unanimous that he’s good enough for this level.

Yates has been spotted at the City Ground during his time out injured. He can often be seen around the bench cheering his teammates on.
The Athletic claims that Yates has asked Cooper if he can join the team when travelling to away games.
This isn’t something that is a mandatory requirement for injured players. Yates, however, wouldn’t be anywhere else when his teammates are scrapping it out.
Yates was a huge player for the football club last season. He was a large part of the promotion push and he’s a worthy vice-captain.
Now, the Reds desperately need him fit and firing. His tenacity has been sorely missed and Forest will hope he’s on the mend.

This just typifies Yates and everything he represents. At a time when Jonjo Shelvey is throwing his toys out of the pram, this is refreshing.
Yates is worshipped by supporters at Forest. He works tirelessly at his game and after a slow start in the Premier League, he’s now proved his worth.

The academy graduate has worked hard for every opportunity. He spent time on loan with Notts County, Barrow, Scunthorpe and Shrewsbury before finally getting a Forest chance.
Now, he’s made 158 appearances for the Reds and there are plenty more to come.
Hopefully, Forest fans can see him back in action before the Premier League campaign of 2022/23 finishes.
