Nottingham Forest defeated Southampton 4-3 last night and Evangelos Marinakis was spotted at the City Ground.

It’s perhaps quite surprising that the owner chose to attend last night’s match.

Although it’s an important stage of the season, Olympiacos were in action against Panathinaikos in Athens.

Clearly, Forest’s status as a Premier League club is of more pressing concern to the head honcho right now.

Marinakis was seen in his usual seat in the Peter Taylor Stand and he went through every emotion.

Forest came up against a dogged Southampton team who gave absolutely everything on the night.

The Reds would have been devastated not to win having had the best chances to score during the clash.

Taiwo Awoniyi scored twice for the Reds, with Morgan Gibbs-White and Danilo also getting on the score sheet.

The atmosphere on Trentside was once again magnificent and Marinakis has been rewarded for sticking by Steve Cooper.

On two occasions during 2022/23, the Reds’ head coach has been the subject of speculation over his future.

However, the Reds chief has stuck by his manager and the supporters are extremely grateful.

There is more to come from Forest but Marinakis is being rewarded for his show of faith.

The owner is normally calm and collected when watching on from the stands.

Last night, like every supporter, he lived every emotion alongside the wonderful fans.

He was spotted in the Peter Taylor Stand with his arms raised with relief etched all over his face following the full-time whistle.

It’s vital that Forest continue to keep fighting for even more points before the season is over.

The Reds are within touching distance of survival now and one more win would probably seal the deal.

Marinakis has been a regular spectator at the City Ground this season and he was clearly delighted last night.
