Serge Aurier has delivered a one-word reaction to an amazing Nottingham Forest spectacle that took place on Monday night.

The Reds claimed a massive three points by defeating Southampton 4-3 at the City Ground in front of a raucous crowd.

Aurier started the game but was withdrawn in the second half after picking up what looked like another injury.

Steve Cooper’s team were brilliant against Southampton for large parts, with Taiwo Awoniyi (2), Morgan Gibbs-White and Danilo scoring.

Aurier signed for the Reds in the summer. He had left Villarreal at the end of his contract and arrived on a free transfer.

The right-back has often kept Neco Williams out of the team during 2022/23 and he’s been in fine form.

Forest signed several players during the summer transfer window and it’s fair to say that not all of them have delivered.

Aurier can’t be placed in that bracket though. He’s been brilliant throughout the campaign and will stay a big player.

After Monday’s game, Aurier has taken to Instagram to post a photo of the display that Forest fans took part in before kick-off.

The Reds fans were told to take scarves to the game and when Mull of Kintyre was played they were lifted.

Aurier has posted a photo of the Trent End with their merchandise in the air, with the word, ‘home’ written across it.

It’s crystal clear that Aurier is enjoying his time at Forest this season.

Fans will be hoping that he loves his time at the club so much that he will be keen to stay with the club next season.

Aurier only signed a one-year contract with the club and as a result, talks will take place in the summer.

The Reds will have to stay in the Premier League in order to keep hold of the 30-year-old.

If they can maintain their status, however, Forest will surely hope to secure Aurier for at least another year.
