Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White almost received a senior England call-up in March when Chelsea star Mason Mount was ruled out.
Gareth Southgate is a huge fan of the 23-year-old and a report from The Telegraph claims he seriously considered the youngster.

Gibbs-White is waiting on his first call for the senior squad but it seems clear that Southgate is a huge fan of the trickster.
The player has risen through the England youth ranks; winning the World Cup with the under-17s in 2017 and working his way to the captaincy with the under-21s.
It seems as though Gibbs-White is destined to play for England at some point. Hopefully, it can be whilst he’s playing for Forest.

The Reds will need to stay in the Premier League for Gibbs-White to earn a call-up and knowing he’s close could tempt him to leave if they don’t stay up.
Mount was ruled out of the England squad back in March. He’s unlikely to play again this season and perhaps Gibbs-White could get a call-up in June.
The Forest man has enjoyed a fine start to his Forest career, scoring five goals and claiming six assists in the Garibaldi.

The Reds playmaker is a really talented individual. Ultimately he will definitely play for England at some point in his career.
Forest are extremely lucky to have Gibbs-White and in his current form, he’s outscoring some top performers when it comes to chances created.

Some will say that Gibbs-White cost the Reds a pretty penny but good British players always come with a premium attached.
It would appear that the player is on his way to proving himself to those that have doubted him. With that in mind, an England call-up would be the tip of the iceberg.
