Nottingham Forest striker Will Swan is a summer transfer target for Mansfield Town, boss Nigel Clough has confirmed.
The talisman spent the 2022/23 campaign on loan at One Call Stadium and quickly struck up a decent rapport with the club’s supporters.

Swan finished the campaign with nine goals from 33 appearances, despite missing a few months of the season through injury.
At 22-years-old, the striker is perhaps unlikely to get a chance at Forest and as a result, a departure wouldn’t be the most surprising thing in the world.
He has made two substitute appearances for the club and has also been a hit when it comes to scoring goals for the club’s academy ranks.
MORE FOREST STORIES
Ultimately, Forest have better players in their attacking ranks and regardless of what division they’ll be in next year, they will target more firepower.
Forest legend Clough is keen to sign the forward again next season but concedes that he may have to wait and see what happens.
The Stags’ boss told the Mansfield Chad: “Up front, we would love Will Swan to come back in some capacity.
“We are hopeful but we have to wait until their respective clubs finish their seasons and find out which league they’re going to be in. Until Forest secure their status then there is not an awful lot we can do.
“I don’t think it does any harm to get two or three players in on loan.”
Forest striker Swan is a summer target for Mansfield
The Reds will surely listen to any offers for Swan once the dust has settled on the 2022/23 campaign and they know their fate.
It’s hard to imagine the player getting a chance at the City Ground. At 22, he needs to be playing regular football and he won’t do that at Forest.

Mansfield will once again go in search of promotion from League Two next season and Swan could be a seriously good signing for them.
Time will tell what Forest decide but it looks as though the talisman will be allowed to depart the City Ground when the window reopens.
