Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has heaped praise on Nottingham Forest head coach Steve Cooper in the aftermath of last night’s game.

Forest beat the Gunners 1-0 with Taiwo Awoniyi scoring the only goal of the game after 19 minutes.

The Gunners have blown the title in recent weeks, with Manchester City crowned champions after Forest’s win

Arteta is a huge fan of Cooper it would seem and he’s raved about the Forest boss during a recent interview.

In quotes transcribed by Nottinghamshire Live: “Brilliant. They made so many changes and I’m sure he found it very difficult with the amount of signings that they had.

“The club stayed patient, especially in the way they performed the year before as well, and what they’ve done in the league, maintaining that belief and unity around the place.

“Big credit to him for what he’s done for the team.”

Cooper joined Forest in September 2021 and he’s taken the whole club by storm with his management style.

The Reds need to ensure that they keep Cooper for the foreseeable and he could be the club’s manager for many years.

Arteta raved about Forest head coach Cooper

The Spaniard is clearly a huge fan of Cooper and he’s decided to heap some praise on the head coach.

Forest can now look forward to next season when they will face Arsenal twice more in the league.

The Reds are lucky to have Cooper and he’s considered as one of the best young coaches currently working in the game.

Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has been tempted to sack Cooper this season but he’s backed his manager.

Now, he must continue to do that, with the fans worshipping the 43-year-old and the work he’s done at Forest.

Now, the Reds must kick on and hopefully, Cooper can learn from the experience of this season.
