David Phillips has raved about Nottingham Forest head coach Steve Cooper on Twitter. The man who spent some of his playing career at the City Ground was covering today’s game with Crystal Palace for Premier League productions.
Cooper has done a remarkable job with the Reds. He took over in September 2021 and in next to no time, he’s won promotion and then helped Forest stay in the Premier League this season.

The head coach’s stock couldn’t be higher among the City Ground faithful. Evangelos Marinakis toyed with sacking the figurehead this season but he’s been rewarded for showing faith.
Cooper has worked tirelessly this season. The job he’s done certainly shouldn’t be underestimated. He’s had 30 new players added to his squad since winning promotion and that’s never easy to work with.
Phillips played at Forest under the influential Frank Clark. He knows what it’s like to play for a popular manager and ahead of today’s game, he lauded the current Forest incumbent on Twitter.

Forest have secured their place in the Premier League for next season. They did that in style last week by beating Arsenal at the City Ground, with the celebrations going late into the night.
Phillips raved about Forest man Cooper ahead of game
The man who served the Reds with distinction during his playing career took to Twitter earlier today. He was keen to praise the head coach and posted some high praise indeed.
Cooper deserves all the plaudits that go his way. He’s managed to gel a group of players and although it’s been a bit of a slog, it’s certainly been a job well done in the end.
Phillips is right to rave about Cooper and he’s not the only one who is buzzing for the Forest fan base after a pretty difficult season.
