Nottingham Forest will spend the summer anticipating Premier League football once again. On Sunday, they drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace on a day when Leeds United and Leicester City were relegated.

Shout it from the rooftops but the East Midlands is red and white once again. Nine years after winning the Premier League, Leicester will be playing Ipswich and Plymouth in their league campaign next season.

So too will Leeds. After spending three seasons playing against Manchester United and Liverpool, they now have Hull City and Stoke back on their fixture lists for next season in the Championship.

At times this season, both Leicester and Leeds have experienced toxic atmospheres. That is one thing that Forest haven’t done and for nine months the fan base has got behind Steve Cooper and his team.

After the final whistle at Selhurst Park, it was time for the party to start. The players joined in with the Forest fans as the away end continued with a cacophony of noise that had been evident for 90 minutes.

It was a truly memorable afternoon for the travelling supporters. Although the game proved nothing more than a typical end-of-the-season affair, Forest fans made sure they enjoyed the day.

Forest can look forward to Premier League football and the party has started

In truth, the party hasn’t stopped since last Saturday. A 1-0 win over Arsenal ensured their Premier League safety with a game to spare and ultimately they can now prepare for next season.

After the game, the club’s official media team shared an emotional video. It showed the players keeping in the spirits of the celebration and enjoying some fun with the club’s supporters.

Forest must do more next season to ensure that they aren’t fighting up until the penultimate week of the campaign. New signings will be added and hopefully, they can ensure a more comfortable time for the club.
