Nottingham Forest star Neco Williams is currently enjoying a holiday and he’s been spotted alongside a Brazilian legend. The Reds defender will join up with Wales soon but he’s currently getting in some rest and recuperation.

Williams missed the final stages of the 2022/23 campaign. A collision with Brennan Johnson during the 3-1 win over Brighton left the player with a fractured jaw and surgery ended his season.

It wasn’t a bad maiden campaign for the Wales international in the red of Forest. He did often play second fiddle to Serge Aurier but there is enough to suggest he can be one for the future.

In total, the 22-year-old made 36 appearances for the Reds, including 31 in the Premier League. Next season, he will be hoping to force his way into Steve Cooper’s team on a more frequent basis.

With Williams currently away on holiday, he’s been keeping fans in the loop on Instagram. Last night, he posted a picture of him alongside the Brazilian legend Ronaldinho who happens to be in the same place.

The trickster enjoyed a wonderful career. He starred for PSG, Barcelona and AC Milan during a colourful career that saw him win 97 caps for his country and win a World Cup title.

Given that he often played in a more advanced role during 2022/23, Williams might have been asking Ronaldinho for some tips! The challenge for the Welshman next year is to continue learning and get his place back in the team.

Williams has time on his side. There were probably too many occasions last season, however, where he let his opposite number have far too much success up against him.

Still, Williams has the backing of Cooper. He signed him from Liverpool for around £17 million and Forest will feel that they’ve got a player who could do good things in the future.

Ronaldinho isn’t up to much these days since calling time on his playing career. He was happy to pose with Williams though and the Forest man was clearly delighted to meet him.
